We have seen people with multiple gifts and talents, and we seem to find it unique. Every person has their talent in certain things and ways. But have you ever wondered why do we have these things for free? It has been said that this has been given to us by the Almighty God, our creator. These talents and gifts are given to us for a reason, and we will discuss them so that you can understand the importance of these attributes and why they should be used for God’s purposes.
You Will Be Called Upon to Account for Your Skills and Abilities
The first reason to use your abilities and capabilities for God is that you will be held accountable. You are a steward of God’s grace, and you will be made responsible for your actions. God gave you the ability to handle and benefit from the gift you have. God is a wise investor who does not provide abilities for its sake wants a return on his investment in your life if he has given you a skill. There must be a return, whether it be spiritual, physical, financial, or material.
This is evident throughout the Bible; each time Jesus served a large crowd, he told them to gather the fragments. (John 6:12)
Any Talent or Gift You Have Been Given to You by God
We’ve established that God is the one who bestows abilities and gifts on both men and women. This is the second reason why you should put your abilities and endowments to good use for God. It’s also fairly sensible. Every good gift/talent we possess was given to us by God. God bestowed not one but all beneficial gifts.
There isn’t a single item we have that we didn’t get. As a result, it is critical that we remain modest and not arrogant in any gift we may possess. God is the provider of all gifts, including life, and we must never forget that. And it is in him that we live, move, and exist.
It’s Satisfying to Put Your Skills and Abilities to Good Use
God is a giver of rewards for good deeds. It’s like sending a child on an errand; when the child returns with the goods, we bless him or her. For using your gift for God, you will be rewarded both on earth and in heaven. Personal fulfillment, money, earthly recognition, and eternal crowns are just a few of the benefits. You can rest convinced that God will bless you for using your abilities and gifts for His glory.
You and Your Abilities Are Needed by the World
You are needed by both the body of Christ and the rest of the world. In Christ, we are all members of one body, and we rely on one another. Just like every component of our body works together in the physical world, our talents are supposed to complement one another. The gift of skill that God has bestowed on every one of us is intended to help us all.
To Prevent Being Replaced by God, Use Your Talents and Gifts
Lastly, the reason why you must use your gifts and talents for God’s purposes is to avoid being replaced by Him. Before God, no one is irreplaceable. If He has given you a talent or exceptional ability, it is preferable to put it to good use for His glory.
It’s terrifying to think about being replaced by God, and we wouldn’t want it on anyone. Replacement is similar to rejection in that it indicates that a person has lost favor with God. That’s what occurred to King Saul when God rejected him as king and picked David as his substitute.
Takeaway
Gifts and talents differ from one another; some are abundant, while others are few, yet they are all gifts. Your talents and gifts do not have to be spectacular, and you may not be as well-known as some of God’s great men and women. These gifts can be applied anywhere globally, and God gave these to us for a reasonable and good purpose. We hope we have given you sufficient knowledge of the purpose of our gifts and talents.
